Handling and Storage of Meters
ERTH will exercise care in receiving, handling, storing and shipping of meter owner’s property while it is under ERTH’s control. ERTH will inspect meter shipments for damage and advise meter owners of any issues prior to proceeding with any meter testing. ERTH will assist in any investigations into meter damages. Meters will be handled in such a way that safely supports their weight and prevents damage (e.g. pump cart, forklift, etc.). Meters will be kept indoors under clean, dry storage conditions and within a temperature range of -40 and +75 degrees Celsius.
ERTH will verify the quantity of meters shipped and the accuracy of the meter information provided by the meter owner on AM-F-2. Any discrepancies will be investigated by ERTH with the customer. ERTH will not proceed with processing any meters where substantive issues have been identified, such as the meter model received does not match the information provided by the meter owner or compliance issues with the meter to Measurement Canada standards. In those cases, the meters will be placed in a hold area until the issue has been resolved. During meter processing, ERTH will assess each meter to ensure conformity to Measurement Canada standards. Should a meter fail to meet the requirements, ERTH will notify the customer of the issue and any proposed corrective action. Please note that investigations and implementing resolutions to meter issues may be subject to additional charges. ERTH will not proceed in these cases without first receiving approval from the meter owner.
Shipping to Customer
ERTH shall ship meters back to the meter owner in the containers provided by the customer unless they were damaged and required replacing in order to ensure the safe transport of the meters. Meter inspection certificates shall be shipped with the meters, unless otherwise requested by the customer to send them electronically. They shall be placed in a box that is easily visible and identifiable. Any meter that ERTH has deemed defective/rejected shall be in a box that is labelled, listing the quantity of sealed and unsealed meters. It will be the meter owner’s responsibility to dispose of any unwanted meters. ERTH shall ensure that a packing slip is present with each shipment and shall contain the following information: quantity of meters shipped, total number of meters received, total number of meters sealed, total number of rejected meters.
