Nicholas Vink (Chair)
Appointed by the Municipality of West Perth, Nicholas draws on more than 12 years of valuable municipal council experience in policy development, stewardship, governance, and financial management. He possesses an extensive background in information technologies supported by educational and professional achievements. Nicholas is committed to environmental conservation and renewable energy and is currently working with his family at home on a net-zero electricity project.
Matt Langford
Matt Langford
Appointed by the Township of Zorra, Matt brings governance experience to the ERTH Board from spending time on the boards of corporate, agricultural and community organizations. Matt operates a farm and business in Zorra and has previous experience in the construction, finance and insurance industries.
Matt holds an MBA from the University of Guelph and is a graduate of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. Matt also teaches leadership and agribusiness courses at Fanshawe College.
Larry McCabe
Larry McCabe
Appointed by the Town of Goderich, and a life-long resident of the Town, Larry McCabe held various roles within the municipality including Chief Administrative Officer, Clerk Administrator, Clerk-Treasurer, and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer. Earning his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wilfred Laurier University, Larry also holds the Accredited Municipal Clerk/Treasurer (AMCT) designation from the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario from Fanshawe College
Larry held the Secretary position for the Goderich Public Utilities Commission, President/Secretary of the West Coast Huron Energy Inc., Director of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships, and served fifteen years as Director of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
David Apfelbeck
David Apfelbeck
Appointed by the Municipality of Central Elgin, David brings Utility Industry experience to the board from a diverse 40-year career in the Natural Gas Industry with Union Gas and Enbridge. Throughout his career he held leadership positions in Distribution Operations, Technical Training and Utility Services Management. David maintains an Applied Science Technologist designation ( A.Sc.T.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. He is also a Civil Technology graduate of Fanshawe College and holds a Bachelors Degree from Western University.
Don McKay
Don McKay
Appointed by the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock, Don McKay has over twenty-five years’ experience in municipal governance, including 19 years as Mayor for East Zorra-Tavistock and 10 years in the Ontario Dairy industry extension services. As the owner/operator of Your Farm Market in Woodstock, a small business providing local farm fresh produce, Don is an active member of the community and brings a unique perspective to the board, ensuring all segments of the ERTH communities are equally represented.
Paul Madden
Paul Madden
Appointed by the Town of Ingersoll, Paul Madden has enjoyed a varied and successful career with the global 3M Company, retiring in 2018. Paul was appointed CEO of 3M Australia/New Zealand in 2007, President of 3M Canada in 2012, and President of 3M’s Global Automotive and Aerospace Division in 2016. While in Canada, Paul was a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, was a member of the United Way cabinet in the London region and was involved with the St Joseph’s Hospital Foundation fundraising Board.
Michael Dymarski
Michael Dymarski
Appointed by the Township of Norwich, Mike Dymarski has over 40 years of technical and administrative management experience, providing support for industrial and educational operations including 30 years with Ontario Power Generation. Mike is retired but actively volunteers in community organizations in the village of Norwich.
Mike holds a PhD from Western University.
David Mayberry
David Mayberry
Appointed by the Township of South West Oxford, David serves as a member of the Board of Directors for both ERTH Corporation and ERTH Power Corporation and is the elected Mayor of the Township of South West Oxford. With a keen interest in renewable energy and conservation, David has achieved remarkable success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by an impressive 90% over the past ten years and producing a slight net surplus of electrical power. As a retired dairy farmer, David and his wife Kathryn have worked for a non-governmental organization on issues including global hunger and agriculture. David and Kathryn have four children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Together, David and his family enjoy domestic and international travel.
Gerry Richer
Gerry Richer
Appointed by the Town of Aylmer, Gerry retired in 2001 after a 35-year career with the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) stationed in remote regions of northern Ontario be it in Moosonee, Hearst, White River, Wawa and ending his career in Aylmer, Ontario. Gerry’s career started with the Forestry and Forest Fire Suppression Division of the MNR ending with the Lands and Planning Division in Aylmer. After retiring, Gerry served 11 years on Aylmer Town Council finishing his term as Deputy Mayor. Beginning in 2009, Gerry assisted his First Nation reservation at Henvey Inlet Reservation in developing the largest FN wind farm in Canada. Gerry continues as Chairman of Nigig Windpower Board. A father of four children and five grandchildren, Gerry divides his time between home and cottage.
